The Vitra Fauteuil de Salon Chair by Jean Prouve is a classic 1939 design which pays homage to his industrial design aesthetic. Combining a metal base, wooden arms an upholstered seat and back it comes in leather or fabric upholstery with a choice of metal and wooden arm finishes.

Description
The Fauteuil de Salon Chair from Vitra is a 1939 Jean Prouvé designed lounge chair which pays homage to his industrial design aesthetic. Rediscovered in the Jean Prouvé archives a steel frame and fabric seat and back (available in several Twill fabrics and leathers) is combined with arms in a choice of three oiled wood finishes. This is a chair with a strong heritage which sits beautifully with other designs in the Jean Prouvé stable of icons.

Jean Prouve
Jean Prouvé is regarded as one of the most influential furniture designers of the early modern design movement. Specialising in the use of steel and aluminium in his designs, he is said to have considered himself more as an engineer than a modern designer. Prouvé was a pioneer of his time concentrating purely on efficiency and the materials being used rather than just the aesthetic appeal of products. His iconic Trapeze Dining Table, manufactured by Vitra is one of his many timeless designs with its alluring appeal and versatility - flexible to apply to any design style.
