Description
This original Eames Ottoman from Vitra is one of the most famous design by Charles & Ray Eames and designed to sit alongside and be the perfect lounging partner to the Eames Lounge Chair.
Like the Lounge Chair the ottoman is constructed from a laminated wooden shell attached to a die-cast aluminium frame. Soft leather (nappa cowhide) upholstery provide the comfort.
The base is four star fixed in a variety of finishes. It can be in either chromed, polished aluminium, black with polished aluminium detail on the horizontal surfaces or all black with the black ash version. The veneer is available in cherry, Santos Palisander (rosewood), black pigmented walnut or white pigmented walnut and the leather in either chocolate, brown, black or snow depending on the wooden finish you choose.
Please note that the white pigmented walnut ottoman is only available with the polished base.
Whilst there are a number of inferior copies available on the internet at a fraction of the price, often labelled as 'Eames inspired' true connoisseurs will appreciate the quality of the original design - manufactured under licence from the Eames estate by Vitra.
The Eames Ottoman is a bespoke piece of furniture and will give many years of lounging pleasure.

Charles & Ray Eames
American husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames have had a profound influence on the visual character of American life, producing original work within the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts.
The Eames’ first partnered with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the history of interior design. Today Vitra continues to reflect their philosophy on design and functionality, best understood through Charles’ own words: “Recognising the need is the primary condition for the design”.
