Description
Designed with the outdoor spaces of the Royal Festival Hall in mind, the RD4 RFH Terrace Chair was first introduced in 1951 alongside the rest of the furniture in the RFH series. Now reissued by Danish atelier &Tradition, the RD4 is a magnificent example of Robin Day's characterful work, which stands as some of the greatest of all mid-century modern design produced in Britain. A simple steel frame plays host to a series of wooden slats, with the resulting piece one which features a distinctive and organic aesthetic.
As impressive today as they were some seven decades on from their initial introduction, this reintroduced classic will gift any garden, terrace or balcony with a beautiful sense of simple style.
