Initially created for Villa La Roche and Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau, the Nemo Lighting La Roche Wall Light, designed by Le Corbusier was created with purist architectures in mind. Designed to illuminate windows and open spaces, the La Roche was the first wall light created by prolific French architect, Le Corbusier. Perfect for use in bathrooms or hallways, the La Roche Light is strikingly modern whether displayed alone or in multiples. Le Corbusier (Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris) - 1887-1965 - was a prolific French architect, designer, urbanist, painter and writer and one of the most influential architects of the twentieth century - a pioneer of what is now called 'modern architecture'. A vehement advocate of the modern aesthetic Le Corbusier designed with a much revered puritan severity. His view that a modern house or apartment was a 'machine for living' in is exemplified by some of the furniture he created to go in them such as the LC4 Chaise, LC1 Armchair and LC2 Armchair from Cassina.
