Description
The Gothic I Wall Light by LYFA was designed in 1970 by Bent Karlby. Destint from his other work, this lamp is crafted from solid brass and has a premium feel. When the lamp is switched on, light escapes from two oval cutouts either side and illuminated the textured brushed surface. From a hidden light source, soft, ambient light is cast upwards, creating intricate, geometric patterns on the wall.
Little is known about the origin of the Gothic series and so it has become an intriguing Danish design mystery. The piece is believed to take its name from the gothic architectural style popular in Europe from the 12th to the 16th century. The elegance and uniqueness of this design is captivating and indisputable.
