Description
Componibili Bio is the recyclable, 'Greenguard' Certified, version of this 1969 design classic by Anna Castelli Ferrieri.The manufacturing process of this design involved years of extensive research into natural materials and the use of biopolymers uncontaminated by chemical elements or pollutants. The result is the development of a more sustainable material, derived from agricultural production waste (rather than petroleum), which is 'attacked' by mico-organisms to generate a biomass similar to plastic. With a series of processes to refine the composition, the biomass becomes a high quality material which Kartell were enable to experiment with injection and moulding, similar to plastic.
The Componibili Bio can be recycled but is also bio-degradable when disposed of correctly at the end of its life cycle.
Designed to meet various functional needs Componibili will slot into any home setting - be it in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen or lounge. Each section has an overlapping door which, when opened with its finger hole 'handle', circulates round the inner side of the container.
