Description
The About A Lounge Sofa designed by Hee Welling is from the About a Chair series for HAY. The collection being designed with a focus on simplicity combining form, function, comfort and detail. This sofa joins the About a Lounge Chair and shares a natural family likeness. In fact, the sofa is the harmonious, proportional fusion of two lounge chairs. This sofa seats two, and even though it has an open and welcoming structure it also invites close and intimate meetings with its curvy lines and organic expression.
As with the About a Lounge Chair, the silhouette of the sofa can be dramatised through the selection of heavier upholstery, or you can opt for more subtle details, materials and colours. The many colour, upholstery and frame options are a particularly strong feature that allows you to play with the design without compromising the basic concept.
It's available in a range of fabric options, and with 2 wooden leg finishes.

Hee Welling
Danish designer Hee Welling graduated as a designer from the Danish Design School in Copenhagen in 2003, specialising in product and furniture design. His designs are deeply rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition, evident in Welling's simple, functional and refined designs.
