Description
The Spanish Chair, designed by Fredericia's in house designer Børge Mogensen, was manufactured in 1958 and originated from The Copenhangen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in 1950 that explored the theme 'The Hunting Lodge'. Making reference to Medieval Spanish furniture through the use of a solid wood framework and saddle leather, this mix of natural materials created the perfect hunting chair.
The chair was launched as part of an innovative living space exhibition in 1958 where all tables were removed for an open living space. This is why the Spanish chair has such wide arms, to act as a sort of side table. This contemporary classic lounge chair is a piece of iconic Danish design. The Spanish Chair is available in a range of treated oaks including oiled, smoked and black stained along with a range if high quality saddle leathers from Sweden.
