Designed by Jaime Hayon, the Formakami JH3 Pendant Light for &Tradition challenges convention with its unique form. Dating back centuries, paper lanterns originate from Asian tradition where different colours, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lanterns all in white.
Hand crafted with rice paper and weighing only 1 kilo, the lamp hangs delicately in any indoor setting and is ideal for positioning under a lounge chair or sofa. Its fluid design means it can be hung singularly or in clusters above a dining space for a beautifully contemporary feel.

Jaime Hayon
Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon has shot to international acclaim through his use of designing with the intent of preserving and updating traditional objects through new forms of materials and technologies. His work is strongly characterized by his childhood passions, skateboard culture and graffiti art. Hayon set up his own design business in 2006 and has since collaborated with some of the word's most influential brands, including Fritz Hansen, Established and Sons, Moooi, Swarovski and his ongoing work as a creative consultant for the Spanish porcelain manufacturer Lladró. The Ro Chair and Favn Sofa are some of his most recent projects.
