Who designed the Haller System In the 1960s Paul Schärer Jr, grandson to the founder of USM developed the Haller system alongside Swiss architect Fritz Haller. USM was originally a family-run metal factory but with the new Haller system, Schärer steered the company into the modern world.

Can I create a custom USM Haller configuration? Yes, at Utility Design UK you can order your very own customised USM Haller configuration. All you need to do is share with us your Configuration ID from the USM Configurator and we'll sort the rest. USM at Utility Utility are an official USM dealer and as such, we can offer the entire range of product available in the USM collection. Our web listings are limited to pre-configured units but should you wish to design your own modular storage system using USM components, email sales@utilitydesign.co.uk and we'll be happy to help. What is the lead time on USM Haller orders? Generally, the preconfigured units listed here are available on a 4-6 week lead time. On occasion, due to matters outside of our control, this lead time may increase but in those instances, our sales team will notify you as early as possible.

Is there any assembly required? All of our USM Haller listings are preconfigured units based on best-selling products. They are pre-built and delivered to your door in one piece, so no assembly is required on your end.

If you order a bespoke USM unit, some assembly may need to be carried our by our white glove delivery team. Information regarding delivery and assembly will be shared prior to purchase.

Do USM products come with a warranty? All original USM products come with a 2 year warranty on materials and workmanship. For more information on USM's warranty terms, visit their website here

Are USM Haller products authentic? Any product found at Utility Design UK is a 100% licensed original. We believe in design, and supporting the designers and brands who product the design we all love. We don't sell any replicas or 'dupes'.

Can I see USM Haller products in person? Yes – we have a selection of USM Haller designs on display in our Liverpool-based furniture showroom We also have USM-trained staff available to help you work through your custom configuration in store.
