Umbra is homeware design company, born over 30 years ago in Toronto. Founder Paul Rowan couldn't find a nice window shade to hang in his apartment window so he made one - people liked it. He teamed up with a childhood friend, Les Mandelbaum, and Umbra (Latin for "shade") was born. Les and Paul began re-designing everyday items into modern ware.
Today, Umbra is recognized all over the world for bringing intelligent design to everyday items - at exceptional prices. An in-house team of international designers creates original design that speaks universally and personally to a broad customer base. We've been proud to be Umbra stockists since we opened in 1999
